Bearhead Mountain and Summit Lake has to be the best hike in Washington state that I’d never heard about until the day before we did this hike.  It was listed as a favorite on the WTA.org website and I can understand why.  On a clear day, it has stunning views of Mt. Rainier and Summit Lake is beautiful on its own.  If you’re pressed for time, I’d recommend hiking to Summit Lake first, then to the hill that overlooks it and Mt. Rainier.
